The Accursed Mountain Circuit: Montenegro and Albania

For cyclists looking for pure adventure and a challenge, this magnificent circular route along the Trans Dinarica through Montenegro’s Prokletije Mountains and the Albanian Alps is just what you were looking for. The route starts conveniently from Podgorica, the Montenegrin capital, and then heads to Lake Skadar. The route turns east and into the northern Albania’s section of the Dinaric Alps. These are big days … but you will be handsomely rewarded with massive views and arguably some of the best adventure (gravel) cycling on the planet. After winding through the so-called Albanian Alps — passing over passes and visiting Theth National Park — your epic loop winds around again, this time turning west for a beautiful ride back to Podgorica.
