The Croatia Circle: Senj – Zrmanja

For those cyclists looking to see more of Croatia than just the coast — but still want to fit a healthy dose of the Adriatic into their holiday — this is a wonderful loop. It allows you to see parts of the country you’ve likely never thought to explore and it provides an exploration of Croatia’s diversity: landscape, food, and people. The itinerary begins on the coast in the town of Senj. You’ll cycle south and seaside, eventually crossing onto the beautiful island of Pag before coming back to the mainland near the UNESCO city of Zadar. The next stage takes you to the stunning Zrmanja River tucked under the Velebit Mountains. From here, your route heads back up and inland through the hinterlands and continues into the country’s fabled Lika Region and the town of Gospić. This special Trans Dinarica itinerary finishes back where you started, in the seaside town of Senj.
